The Year Ahead

Letter from the General Manager

Dear Railside Member,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I realize it takes an investment by a variety of people to grow, encourage, and develop the Railside community, so I’d like to begin this letter with a quick note of thanks:

Thank you to our Railside members for your continued support and commitment. You are the foundation of Railside, and I am grateful to count you as both friends and colleagues.   We could not be where we are today without you and those members along the way in the past 27 years.   So – THANK YOU!

The Year Ahead

As we embark on another year, it is our hope that 2019 will be a growth and enhancement year — a year to grow the initiatives and programs developed in 2018 and to further encourage and create the community at Railside.  Also, it will be a year of continued enhancement of the golf course now that our bunker and drainage project are completed.  We are spending 200K plus on new grounds equipment which will upgrade our amenities and overall experience at the club.

As you may have noticed our new events center is under construction.  What really excites our staff is that the entire space will be open air if the weather is nice.  And if not, we can turn up the heating or cooling and close the garage doors to control the climate.  After meeting with the construction team this morning – we can announce that we will be finished by early May!

Railside is a community — a collection of people who share common interests and common goals. In 2019, we hope to grow that community.  As the year unfolds, we ask for your continued support. We could not be more excited and optimistic about 2019, and what we can accomplish together.

Wishing you all the best in the New Year,

Jim Bultema
General Manager

Around the Course

The Holiday Edition

We can finally say that winter is here! Mother Nature has already been showing us what she is capable of doing. This past fall and now winter, we have seen it all and despite the conditions we successfully accomplished all of our goals for 2018. Again thank you for all your support and patience this past year with the renovation of our club.

Now as we say goodbye to 2018, we look forward to a fun, fresh, and positive year ahead. To help us get prepared for next year we’ll be going through all of our equipment and accessories during these winter months.

This will include:

  • Greasing
  • Oil Changes
  • Flag Sticks
  • Tee Markers
  • Painting
  • Changing Tires as needed
  • Sharpening Blades
  • Adjusting Reels

Also, we’ll be planning our chemical and fungicide program; this is a meticulous job that requires us to go through with a fine tooth comb.  Between doing these things we’ll always be checking the lot and walks for snow accumulation.

On behalf of the maintenance staff, we would like wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
